Sick & Shut-in Visitation (SSV)

In case of illness, the clergy is notified and is available for spiritual direction and pastoral guidance. Clergy and laity visit homes, hospitals, and other healthcare institutions to provide pastoral care – prayer and Holy Communion. Names of the sick and shut-in members or loved ones are sent to the church office either by email or by phone for the parish prayer list. Always call the church office or ask the hospital to do this for you. It is advisable to get the permission of the sick person (if it is possible) before sending the name to the church for the prayer list. The clergy are available in emergencies, and want to be informed of deaths, hospitalizations, or other personal crisis.
